Concerning e-textiles, reliable contacts between electrically conductive structures themselves as well as contacts to electronic modules represent a big challenge. Many times established processes and their parameters can not be simply transferred.

For this reason, TITV has been investigating and evaluating traditionally practiced contacting techniques with respect to their applicability to flexible materials for more than two decades. New methods for contacting textile and electronic components are additionally developed.

Our portfolio of contacting methods comprises the following topics

  • Soldering and gluing methods – contactless via hot air, laser, or induction
  • Crimping systems applied to threads and fabrics
  • Sewing and embroidery techniques using electrically conductive threads
  • Laminating processes using conductive as well as insulating foils and adhesive webs
