Berlin, May 15, 2025. The Textile Research Institute Thuringia-Vogtland e. V. (TITV Greiz), applied research institute based in Greiz, Thuringia, is set to open a new branch office in Berlin on June 1, 2025. The institute will be located in the headquarters of the German textile industry association textil+mode on Wallstraße (engl. Wall Street).

Closer to Customers, Partners, and Global Connections

“With many of our partners and clients based in Berlin and the surrounding region, this new location will enable more efficient collaboration, shorter travel times, and faster coordination,” says Dr. Fabian Schreiber, Managing Director of TITV Greiz. “As a business-oriented research institute, being easily accessible is critical to our mission.”

Thanks to its central location – just minutes from Berlin Central Station and BER Airport – the branch office is also ideally situated for international visitors. TITV Greiz is actively engaged in cross-border R&D initiatives, including EU-funded and ZIM (Zentrales Innovationsprogramm Mittelstand) projects. “Today, our industry research partners come from around the globe. Close, personal contact is essential to innovation and project success,” adds Schreiber.

Boosting Talent and Policy Engagement

Berlin continues to attract young professionals and researchers, and TITV Greiz is tapping into this dynamic ecosystem. Since 2023, a small Berlin-based team has been working to expand its footprint, and the new branch office will support ongoing growth. It offers an attractive hub for recruiting emerging talent in textile innovation and interdisciplinary research.

The proximity to federal ministries, industry associations, and decision-makers further enhances TITV Greiz’s ability to advocate for industrial R&D and support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across sectors such as mobility, medical technology, and construction.

Continued Commitment to Greiz

Despite the expansion, TITV Greiz remains deeply committed to its roots. The institute’s Greiz headquarters – with its cutting-edge and versatile technical equipment, and decades of textile expertise – will continue to serve as the innovation engine of the organization. The two locations are designed to complement each other strategically, accelerating research processes and strengthening the institute’s national and international competitiveness.
